Making friends
The beauty about getting to know local people is that you can do less turistic stuff and watch the customs of the country... We have make friends, and they invited us to a "Barbacoa"... We had a great time and free food!!!! ;)

Hello,
I am coming to Madrid, how far is Segovia from Madrid and what is the best way to go to Segovia from Madrid?
thanks
Around 80 kms.; the best way is by bus: The link is just in Spanish http://www.lasepulvedana.es/SEG2/index.html
By the way, in Madrid, from Paseo de la Florida/Intercambiador Príncipe Pío (metro Príncipe Pío).
For example tomorrow, 12,45 €uros (return): 6,30 am, 7,00, 7,15, 7,30....
The buses run by La Sepulvedena go from the newish transport hub called :
Intercambiador de Príncipe Pío
If you open GOOGLE MAPS and put in the search box this:
Intercambiador de Príncipe Pío, 28008 Madrid
you should see the location of the bus terminal - its also known as MADRID-FLORIDA on the web site that Redang gave you. After the road Paseo de la Florida.
You can reach Principe Pio using the Madrid Metro --refer---

I've taken the cercania train a few times. You can get on at Recoletos station, which is located between Colon and Celibes in the center of Madrid. I often prefer the train to bus, in general.

I think this is PLAZA DE LA VILLA where the town hall is. I was actually walking in circles, up Calle Mayor, around Plaza Provincia & was getting worried when there were less & less people on the street. Seemed eerie with not a single soul in sight & I've heard stories about robbers! Kinma, perhaps you'll do the honor of identifying this site? Thanks!
I had lots of trouble with cell phone rates in Spain and used a company called apelcom. I have included my personal blog that talks about my cell phone situation and also the website for the company i ended up using. Hopes this helps someone!
Some madrilenian streets have odd names (specially at ancient Madrid), like "Calle de la lechuga" (Lettuce St.), "Calle de la pasa" (Raisin St.) or "Calle del codo" (Elbow St.). If you do not understand Spanish, do not worry: the nameplates have drawings. The picture shows "Calle de la lechuga".
Great drinking spot. We would get a round of drinks and it would only cost 6EUR. Chris got the locals to quote Triumph... "For me to poop on!"
I found that just "happening" into Bars made them great - especially if you got to meet other people. We met lots of great people and it made places that would have been just okay, or good - GREAT! Casual
