Howdy. Just wondering if anyone has ever seen violin/viola/cello/double bass bows for sale in El Rastro market, and where.

Wow, bows in el rastro. I walked through El Rastro several years ago and did not notice anything "musically" related. It is quite large and it is quite possible I missed it, but I am always on the lookout for old music and did not notice anything related to music. Karl
At least not in Madrid, apparently. A bit of irony: here in Southern California, where skateboarding was born, you'd be arrested for doing what these kids were doing, right out in the open and seemingly with no fear of the authorities. I've seen it all around Europe - skateboarding is thriving and I say, "good". People here are too uptight.
Most restaurants have a menu del dia (menu of the day) a three course menu with a cheap fixed prize. On all the bills there is 7 percent IVA (tax) its not common to tip. Most restaurants accept visa or mastercard. Its of big importancethat you make a reservation for the restaurant in advance especially for the trendy ones like in chueca, you can do this by telephone. In Spain the gouvernment is on about a campaign to supress smoking, and in one year from now it ll be forbidden in most of the restaurants.
The Museum is in the old Delicias station, and there is no need to comment what the Museum is about, just to hint that it's a good place for children (or even for yourself).
It's not in the city centre, but close to Atocha Station.

How to get there:
- Metro: Delicias (line 3).
- Bus: 8, 19, 45, 47, 59, 85 amd 86.
- Suburban train: Delicias Station.
Just at the back of Plaza Mayor, in direction to the Plaza de la villa, you will find this market.
What I mostly like is the iron columns and it is from late 1800?s early 1900.
I do not know the style, but whenever I travelled with my mum, she loved all the old markets, and when we lived in Madrid, we used to visit them a lot for hopping.

Clamores is THE institution among the live music venues in Madrid. Performances are scheduled for every day of the week, offering styles ranging from Jazz, Latin rhythms, song writers, folk music, and a long etcetera. So, it's almost impossible not to find there a concert suiting your tastes.
Apart from the often excellent music, the main reason for giving Clamores a try if for the great atmosphere of the place... all that late night concerts has given the place a great imprint... of the seedy kind, to be more precise ;-) Dress code is pretty open
