Policia
by jamiesno
I am assuming the Policia in Madrid are being strategic with these small cars and not just cheap. Maybe its easier to chase the bad guys in this little cars.
What do you think? Good cars for chases or just cheapest on the government? Or friendliest on the environment maybe?
On a serious note if you are in trouble in Madrid the number to call for emergencies is 091. You can see this number as well on the car.

Calle Puerto Rico

Loaded with different pubs, great for the "aperitivo" in Madrid (mid day snack... well...... right, more like "beer time"!!!) :o)
Several bars along the street for enjoying some cañas (small beers) and tapas (apetizers)
Guitar Shops
by acemj about Various
What a great gift a Spanish guitar would make for someone back home! There are a couple really great shops in the city. Jose Ramirez is on Concepcion Jeronimo 2 and has a museum of guitars right inside the store. You might also try Real Musica on Carlos III, 1.
Not the mythical Spanish Sun...
by agarcia about Sala El Sol
I confess I'm totally ignorant about the well-hidden secret that had allowed El Sol for been the reference of the Madrilian nightlife scene for the past 20 years. The music is just fine, the drinks are unreasonably expensive and the decoration is nothing out of this world. Explanations aside a pact between the owners and the Devil seems less that probable. But still, the most heterogeneous crowd joins together in the place every single night of the year (notice I'm not saying every weekend night)...
Actually, one of my most fervent passions is "cerrar El Sol", meaning to remain at the place until the music is over (6 A.M) and the security guys of the local indicates you the exit ;-) Quite open: trendy, casual...every style seems to fit there.
