I am travelling to Madrid for 5 days, and I'm looking for a "not too expensive" accommodation (probably hostel).
I have found the followings which I think best fit my expectations:
Hostal La Perla Asturiana
Hostal Residencia Principado
San Martin Guesthouse
For me, quietness, safety are very important, and I don't have a laptop, so I would need a place where there is computer for Internet as well.
I spent weeks with searching, and I looked through hundreds of descriptions. This is the last stage, but it's a bit difficult to decide between them.
I have very little information about San Martin Guesthouse and Hostal Benamar.
Could somebody help me in a final decision? Thanks in advance!
I'm sorry I'm not familiar with any of these. I stayed at the Marlasca Hostal - http://www.hostalmarlasca.net. It is in an excellent location - Puerta del Sol. Clean rooms and pleasant staff. There is an internet cafe next door. The front rooms are noisy (it didn't bother me - I liked the street scenes) so ask for a room off the street. This is probably the best request for you no matter where you stay as central Madrid is noisy. In the same street as the Marlasca is the Cantabrico Hostal - http://www.hostalcantabricomadrid.com. This includes breakfast in the tariff. Again ask for a room off the street. This hostal is about 75m from the internet point. I did not feel there was any safety issue as there were lots of people around until the early hours.
I hope I haven't confused you more. Have fun in fantastic Madrid.
This one is nice, and cheap: http://www.hostalreconquista.com/
But any in This webpage is great. Is written by an American in Madrid, truly expert in the issue. Great page!
