According to Time Out Madrid(2003): Open: Exhibitions 11 AM -- 2 PM, 5 PM -- 8 PM, Tues -- Sat. 11 AM - 2 PM. Sun.

Exhibitions free. I guess that means you can go in the parts where they display the art. Have not been there myself.

Travel Tips for Madrid

Buskers

by jamiesno

There are generally plenty of buskers on the streets in Madrid and I often mistaken for statues until they jumped at me, I quickly learnt from that point onward. Again the buskers add to the overall experience while roaming the streets of Madrid.

Here in this picture you can see how they would engage pedestrians and their costumes could get very elaborate.

I enjoy any city where walking is enjoyable and not just a task to get somewhere. I read a quote one time to that affect, the trail is the thing, not the end of it :-).

I give two thumbs up to the atmosphere exploring Madrid.

Candid photos from Naturbier

by virtualpatrick

The night after coming back from the "working" the week at the English immersion program, the Anglos and some Spaniards meet at Plaza Santa Ana at Naturbier bar for some tapas and homebrewed cervezas.

Castellana Open Air Museum

by SirRichard

In the Castellana avenue, under the bridge of the street Juan Bravo you can find this little collection of sculpture, mostly from spanish 60's artists (Chillida...). A good option to visit on sunday afternoons, when all other museums are closed.

Locals Only

by Nicckie about El Confidencial

I got very lucky and dated a guy in Spain who grew up in Madrid and used to work at a nightclub. We definitely had the hook up to places and this was one of my favorite spots. El Confidencial is exactly as it sounds - dark, secretive, mysterious and very chic. We would go on Wed nights and it was like a fraternity - everyone knows each other - a little like "Cheers" with Norm and the crew, but WAY MORE STYLISH!! Dress code is definitely chic - classy, trendy and sophisticated.
