While you can purchase stamps at the impressive Palacio de Comunicaciones, it is more common to buy stamps at 'estancos' which are tobacco shops. Look for a yellow sign with 'tabaco' in brown letters. If you want to send mail, drop it into the big yellow mail boxes that are found throughout the city. The box also has 2 red stripes and the symbol of Spain's postal service on it.
