Airport straight to Toledo or Segovia

by jn1963

Hi everyone,

We are thinking of saving Madrid for the last leg of our trip which means going to either Toledo or Segovia straight from the airport. Is this easy and convenient to do? Do we have to take the metro from the airport to one of the train stations in Madrid and then hop a train to either place? CAn we take a train straight from the airport - or is there a bus? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Segovia and Toledo are easy day trips from Madrid. Would be easier to just stay in Madrid and not have to unpack a couple of times. About an hour or less each way.

Thanks for your reply, but unpacking a couple of times is not the issue. Does anyone know how difficult it is to go straight from the airport to Segovia? Is there a fast train? Do we need to go all the way into Madrid and then back up to Segovia? Any details about how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

There is a great ambiance in the Chistmas Market and we can see a big crib .Children are playing and singing for money.Lots of peple is dressed up.
And the architecture is wonderful with archways.

Pan con tomate

by marielexoteria

Pan con tomate was something I saw many Spaniards eat for breakfast. It's toasted bread with crushed tomatoes and olive oil. I tried and it was yummy! Pan con tomate can also be an appetizer or part of a tapas dish.

Open Air Museum

by mindcrime

Weird location for a museum, that's for sure!!
Under a busy bridge I was confused to find this open air museum. In fact, under the bridge you can see some sculptures (some good, some boring) of artists like A.Alfaro, J.Maria Subirachs, Am.Gabino etc. There is no entrance fee of course but it’s nice to visit if it happens to walk this part of Madrid (I was on my way to Sorolla museum)

address:Paseo de la Castellana,

Take metro to Ruben Dario station or buses 14, 27, 40

Department Store

by cinthya_in_victoria about El Corte Inglés

El Corte Inglés the biggest department store in Spain and it is just like McDonald's; you can find one in almost every corner! I remember its publicity in Spanish magazines sold in Mexico and that woke up my curiosity of visiting it when I had the chance.

In this department store you find everything you need. The prices are high, I can't lie but they have fancy and fashonable stuff. whatever you want as much as you want

crazy crazy madrid nights ..

by jenniferchin about Serrano 41

Andres took me here the day after the pub crawl (see t-log). I was with a whole bunch of his friends. SIGH ... they (the friends) are all so goodlooking .. I was in heaven !!

Anyway, this place was really nice ! Looks posh and seem to have differing themes in various areas/rooms. Loads of beautiful men and women here :-) As sexy as possible !
