Self catering hotel/room with kitchenette in central Madrid?

by supermelonhead

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a hotel in a great central location that has self catering facilities?

I have searched for ages for something suitable but am finding it really hard. If I have been able to find any that are central and also self catering they have looked not very nice!

Any recommendations?

A few years ago I had been staying at the Aparthotel Gran Via. My room was not a suite, it was just a bedroom plus a kitchen (and a bathroom). Very central. Check the website: http://www.aparthotelgranvia.com

there are many in that area.
mostly located in the side streets and typically up on the second floor.
i was in madrid 3 weeks ago and spotted at least 5 different places in the area you refer to, so it should be easu for you to find.
i´m sorry i have no adress, but i had my laptop with me, so i was using the places that had wifi.

Encontré esto, no sé si te ayude porque el mapa muestra el área del Parque Retiro y Casa de Campo, pero algo es algo (I found this, dunno if it'll help because the map shows the area by Retiro Park and Casa de Campo, but that's at least something).

Both the map I gave you and what Claus said are wifi spots and for that you need to have your own computer, yes.

Sorry, not what Claus said.
I'm gonna learn to read before I post.

Hi,
In the VIPS cafeterias there is often internet connection (3 euros per hour I think) and there are many in the centre ie, Gran Via 65, http://madrid.lanetro.com/regalos/vips-gran-65-280082).
And in the LOCUTORIOS (places to make phone calls abroad) you can connect too, and I'm sure there are some more between Puerta del Sol and Gran Via.

During Summer time

by Danalia

Lots of festivals in Madrid take a place during summer time (July-August).
Veranos de la Villa is the main one and the best way to learn more about it and about the fest locations is to check their web at:
www.esmadrid.com/veranosdelavilla

First tow weeks of August is a good opportunity to visit "La Latina" zone of Madrid, and enjoy there the local fest of Los Tres Santos.
The Tres Santos refer to (San Lorenzo, San Cayetano, La Virgin de laPaloma)

Parque de El Retiro.

by worldkiwi

Parque de El Retiro is Madrid's main public park. It has lots of shady paths and a large man-made lake to sit beside. The Palacio de Cristal and its fountain is just one of the picturesque sights in the park.

Calle de Serrano (Serrano Street)

by Redang

This long Street begins at Plaza de la Independencia, where tha Puerta de Alcalá/Alcalá Gate is, but the maiin shops are between that square to calle de María de Molina. You can find fashion, jewelry, big stores, shopping centers, travel agencies, antiquities...
