The Hotel Moderno is situated very close to the Puerta del Sol - an excellent location in the heart of Madrid where all the interesting things are within walking distance.
The breakfast buffet was nice with a lot of choice.
Unique Quality: Great views over the Puerta del Sol and the underground station "Sol".
The underground was travelling underneath the hotel and it was a bit funny feeling that the whole hotel was vibrating - it wasn't uncomfortable though!
Directions: When you walk out of the underground station "Sol" you can see the hotel on the right hand side.
Hotel Moderno was a really nice, comfy, home-away-from-home kind of hotel. The lounge is nice and spacious, but small enough to gather around with your friends and feel like in your own living room. The rooms are comfortable, and some have balconies.
Directions: Right next to Puerta del Sol....across from the Plaza Mayor and a few blocks away from the Palacio Real
