2 nights, double room, usual facilities. Room was small but adequate. Clean, comfortable. Good buffet breakfast.
Unique Quality: Good location for bars, restaurants, 5 minutes walk from metro, bus service from door to main square.
This hotel is called:Praga Hotel which is located in Antonio Lopez, 65 in Madrid, we would not recommend this hotel, the employees are the most UNFRIENDLY, would not help and give city information, first two nights the room chambers had not time to clean and change our towels, then to top it all, the bathroom toilet was clog and the desk mgr. would not change our rooms as there was nothing available, so we had to share toilet with another stranger couple who could not even speak English as they were very nice Japanese couple.. This hotel is a four star hotel and with rooms nothing much to write home about, rooms are regular size, bathroom comes with a bath tub and not much more than any other 4 star hotel. We had booked through internet and given that it is a 4 star hotel and charging only 130 Euros per night is still quite reasonable, however, we would not recommend these to any of our friends or relatives as the employees are just so unfriendly and not helpful at all, bathroom (toilet was clogged and could not give us another room). After the 2nd day we had moved to another hotel located in the central area which was much more comfortable. In few minutes we shall give you more reliable information and updates, in the meantime allow us to download some photos taken during our business trip to Madrid.
Directions: Quite a residential area
Nice Hotel in an OK location, about a 10 minute walk to the Metro station and there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. There is also a Champion Supermarket right next to it. I've noticed that this hotel is always full because of all the tourists. If you're there during Sunday (maybe its everyday too) you'll see all these tourists coming in from their coach buses. It can be nerveracking the first time you see it. The hotel is not really close to any interesting places so you will have to either take the metro or the bus. A taxi from this hotel to Plaza Mayor will be around 6 Euros.
Unique Quality: Close to a supermarket, souvenier shop inside the hotel.
Very basic accommodation at the Praga.Staff po faced and unhelpful, especially in the hotel restaurant.Walls in rooms paper thin.We spent one sleepless night courtesy of a Japanese couple in the next room.If only we spoke the language.
Stayed there twice, second time was enforced, not voluntary, but would rather sleep at the railway station a third time.
Directions: Residential area.
