Small room, great location!

I stayed here in the easter of 2004.

It was a nice, clean room and I was very satisfied with this 3 star hotel. Not too expensive, and a great location. It is just by Gran Via, but not too noisy.

It is only a 3 minutes walk to Puerto del Sol.

Unique Quality: It's not many hotels with a better location in Madrid.

Three Star Magic

This hotel is in a great location.. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very accomodating to English speaking guests. The room was a pretty good size and very clean.

Unique Quality: The staff made this hotel the most enjoyable stay in Madrid. They gave me advice on sites to see and directions on how to get there. It is walking distance away from Sol, Calle de Mayor , Plaza Mayor and other tourist attractions. I had to take the train to Sevilla for a day trip from Atocha Renfe. The Metro starts running at 06:00 and my train to Sevilla left at 07:00. I took the metro from the closest station to the hotel which is Callao - take it to Sol then transfer to the Congosto line and in 10 minutes Atocha Renfe.

A nice perfectly located 3-star

The Hotel Regente is a nice 3-star hotel located only one block from the Gran Via and 3 blocks from Puerta del Sol and the historic area. It has 154 comfortable rooms that have been recently renovated.

Unique Quality: The location is ideal for sightseeing and shopping. Pedestrian Calle Preciados is only metres away.

Madrid Hotel

The Regente is a nice 3 star hotel located in a side street right off the Gran Via. The staff is very courteous and the rooms are nice and well situated. There is a Spanish Style Cafeteria on the prenises where only breakfast is served for a small fee which is added to your hotel bill. Fare is Continental (Juice, coffee or tea, croissant and roll). The hotels location makes it easy to get to key points around the city. There's 2 Metro stops close by as well as a bus stop. And being right off the Gran Via makes it a breeze to get a taxi.

Unique Quality: The hotel offers a Concierge Service which is convenient for the purchase of tours, flamenco shows, etc.

Small, European-style hotel

This is an inexpensive, clean hotel with a friendly staff. The continental breakfast in the morning is a bit weak (and the breakfast room near the lobby can get quite smoky). The rooms are not that big but the bathrooms are very very nice, spacious, and clean (that's one thing that's important to me).

The best thing this hotel has going for it is its location. Just of the Gran Via, it's adjacent to myriad of pedestrian only streets with good shopping (Zara, El Corte Ingles) and a few blocks from the Puerta del Sol, Palacio Real, and my favorite restaurant, Cornucopia. Try to get a room that doesn't front the Gran Via as it can be a bit noisy.

Hotel Regente

a double room with breakfast: about 100 Euros

Unique Quality: We stayed in a very nice small and excellently located 3-star-hotel. The aircon rooms are not very big but with wooden floors, a very nice and new white bathroom, a TV, a room safe and rather good beds. It is situated in a silent (!) side street of Gran Vía and the walk to Puerta del Sol is only 3 minutes.

I stayed at the Euromadrid at Calle de Mesonero Romanos. Very well located, cheap, clean, big bathroom. Excellent value.

Hotel Regente

Unique Quality: Small hotel from outside...but really there are lots of rooms inside. The rooms are comfortable, with standard amenities. Breakfast is simple with croissant, buns, dried bread with butter, jam and cup of coffee or te (tea) and glass of juice.
