Airport to hotel transportation

by billingw

What would be the best way to get to Hotel Ibis Madrid Centro from Madrid airport at 7:30 on a weekday morning? We will have suitcases. Taxi? How much? Hotel is near Metro Bilbao station. Practical?

Metro Line 8 (pink line)from Airport to MAR DE CRISTAL.
There link Line 4(brown line) till BILBAO.
It takes about 40 minutes.

I don't know how much is a taxi. If you luggage is heavy is the best option.
The hotel is situated about 15 km. by car from the airport.

I'd say take the metro, like chiqui suggested. It takes 48 minutes according to this site, where you can check the best ways to go from point A to point B. I think it costs 1€ for a single ticket.

Enjoy!

Sorry, I thought the link would be "converted" so that you can click on it. The site is www.cmt-madrid.es. (Without the dot after the "es".)

I used to live not so far from Bilbao area (I used to get out the metro at the next stop). If your suitcases are not so big, metro is the fastest (and of course cheapest) option at this time of the day, but be aware there are some stairs up and down.

If your luggage is heavy, you're jetlagged, etc... take a taxi, there are rows of them just outside the terminals, follow he signs. It will cost you about 20-25 euros (what the taximeter shows plus airport supplememts).

Have a nice trip!

Yes, the metro will cost 1€ for a single journey from the airport, as do all metro journies centrally. Please note they have recently introduced an additional 1€ charge entering and exiting the airport station and this needs to be selected on the ticket machine when you buy your ticket - to the confusion of many who buy a ticket only as usual and are then unable to get through the barriers!

Don´t worry though, there´s a helpful info desk in case of confusion!

Enjoy your stay here :)
