Metro Barajas airport to Piramides station

by jnogen

Hello:I'd like to know how to get Piramides metro station from Barajas airport
Thanks in advance.

Re: Metro Barajas airport to Piramides station

www.metromadrid.es has a trip planner utility

I happened to live near Piramides for a while, so I know well this route:
Line 8 (pink) to Nuevos Ministerios, change to Line 10 (dark blue) to Alonso Martinez, change to Line 5 (lime green) to Pirámides.

Be advised there are some walks and stairs involved (in case you have luggage may be difficult) and it will take you about one hour.

hahaha, and this one is near where I do live now!

a few options:
- Aerobús to Pl. Catalunya, walk (less than 10 min) to the Passeig de Gràcia/Gran Via and take there metro Line 4 (yellow) to Selva de Mar
- Train to Passeig de Gràcia, looooooooong underground walk (no kidding) to metro (same as above)
- Train to Clot/Aragó, change to metro L2 (purple) to La Pau, then change to metro Line 4 (yellow)

Travel Tips for Madrid

Puerta del Sol (Sun's Gate)

by SirRichard

The real center of Madrid. Is one of the busiest squares of the capital day & night. A lot of souvenir shops, Metro, El Corte Ingles... A usual place to meet and a good place to start a city tour. Panoramic buses stop here too.

Packing List

by b1bob

Unless you're on an extended study abroad programme like I was, pack lightly to save hassle at the airport on the way out and back. They say on the weather in Madrid...'Hay nueve meses de invierno y tres de infierno.' (Nine months of winter, three months of hell.) Dress to fit the extreme. When I was there, it was hotter than a $2 pistol. The dry heat will deceive you, so if you do a lot of walking in the heat of the day, put on high-numbered sunblock and take bottled water. A 35mm camera with home-bought film will do just fine.

Cuartel del Conde Duque

Pedro Ribero has build a militairy barrack for los guardia de corps, in 1730. in the ninetheenth century however it got destroyed by a fire. but the main entrance was safed, its a barroque mastterpiece. 100 years later the city councell decided to restore the building and to open a police office in it. Nowadyas there is also a library and centre for culture.

7 floors of fun

by Ciaran27 about Teatro Kapital

This place has everything - 7 floors of everything from a cinema, dance floors, quiet bars and best of all Karaoke!!

It's 20 euro in and you get a free drink.

Not too sure what time the place opens but it does close at 8am!! Quite a trendy place, so I think there would be no tracksuits of trainers allowed!
