Hotel Restaurante Las Alcabalas: Life saviour late at night!

I arrived quite late, just after 11pm and to my relief they had nice ensuite rooms and were only going to charge me 18 euro for a double room to myself with breakfast included, and they happily gave me a pot of tea so appreciated as i was wrecked! (the woman of the couple managing looked wrecked too! still working with laundry etc, and was up again the next morning early to give breakfasts for guests)
What a day, and to be given kind care and with limited english!! but good international travellers speak!

Unique Quality: It felt a safe hotel, right on the main road but large under the building parking provided around the back and huge gates that enclosed it all for the night. Bars on the windows on the rooms facing the road.
Hospitable hosts. Hotel was probably only two star but i appreciated that it was a low price and available at a time i really needed it! and was given a cup of tea to recover from the long day!

Castillo de Luna: Youth Hostel Castle!

Didnt get to stay unfortunately but had phoned the number and spoke to a woman on several occasions previously while out and around my self tour - but they must have been closed the night i did end up wanting to stay - no answer to the phone so i took a chance and drove for the town anyway!!
From the outside it looks excellent - and certainly good security and surely must have a good view??
Its in the official Hostelling International network and in the official youth hostels guide for europe hostels.
Open times 01/03 to 31/12 each year. 10 beds ie 5 rooms with two beds per room.
Full facilities listed - tv, laundry, meals/dining,parking, public bus and train nearby.

Unique Quality: Its the chance to stay in a spanish border control castle - at youth hostel rates!
