Set as far away from the coast as you can get on the Iberian Peninsular. Badajoz is not a tourist destination. We have business friends who live there, hence the reason for our frequent trips.
The area is agricultural, but not particularly attractive countryside, there is a great golf course to the east of the town, Guadalina Golf Club, with no one playing at all during the week until about 4-00p.m.( closed on Mondays for maintenance) the golf course is next to the Confortel out of town in the countryside
If you want typical Spain this is it.
To get there you need to fly into either Madrid or even closer is Lisbon and on the new motorway that runs between Madrid & Lisbon.
