Palacio de la Generala ( General's Palace ) is a fortress-house built in the 15th century, and renovated afterwards.
This house's name dates back to the 18th century, when it belonged to Mrs Josefa de Ovando, married to General Antonio Vicente de Arce. Note that in spanish the house's name referes to a female general.
Nowadays it houses some departments of Universidad de Extramadura ( Extramadura's University ) and until 1994 it housed the Facultad de Derecho ( Law College ).
