Palacio Toledo-Moctezuma

Palacio Toledo-Moctezuma ( Toledo-Moctezuma Palace ) was built on top of an ancient construction during the 16th century, and it's Renaissance style.
The square tower has a dome on top of which there's another smaller dome. Inside the dome, there is a blacksmith's style attic and some roman and aztec styled frescos.
The name of this palace comes from the marriage between Juan Cano de Saavedra and Isabel de Moctezuma, daughter of king Moctezuma II. Their grand-son Juan Toledo Moctezuma married Mariana de Carvajal y Toledo and ordered the construction of this palace.
Nowadays it houses the Archivo Hist?rico Provincial de C?ceres ( C?ceres' County Historical Archive ).

The Ayuntamiento ( City Hall ) took 2 years to be built and the construction begun in 1867, following some caracteristics that are commom in admistrative buildings.
Inside the City Hall there are several pieces that are most relevant to the history of this place:
> the gravestone of the foundation of the community Norbensis Caesarina, made in granite stone and dated between 32bc y 20bc.
> Pendón de San Jorge, the codex of the regional law, 12 books made in parchment with a total of 94 folios dated from 1229 and forth.
> a tribute to the people of Cáceres that contributed to the conquer of America.
> some canvas, amongst which there is a collection of royal portraits.
