By the name of this museum you might get the impression that it is the house where Francisco Pizarro was born. Of course it is not. It is not even on the same spot as he was born.
Having said that, you can in this little museum find things from the time of the Conquest and a surveying description about the history of Pizarro and the conquest.
Trujillo is the birthplace of D. Francisco Pizarro, known as the Marqués Gobernador y Capitán General del Perú. As we all know Pizarro was the leader of the Conquest of Perú 1532 --.
Trujillo is also the birth town of Francisco Orellana, the explorer of Equador and the Amazon jungle.
One description of the Conquest is "History of the Conquest of Perú" by William Hickling Prescott, a book well worth reading to understand the connections between Spain and Peru.
The betrayal against Inca Atahualpa by the conquistadores made an indelible stain on the Spanish coat-of-arms. It took me more than twenty years to be able to read it, for the feeling of shame.
