by kehkeh

Hello
Does anyone know a nice place to stay near to Caaveiro Monastery, ?
It could be bed and breakfast , hostel or hotel.
Ideally we want to know if it is possible to walk to the Caaveiro Monastery, if there is any accomadation nearby.
Thankyou

There are several answers to this question
First a map of the area with a list of places of interest and loggings.
http://www.agroalimentariadoeume.org/mapa/
All loggings in Galicia are controlled by the government of Galicia, here is their web site.
http://www.turgalicia.es/
there are no reviews on the above site but if you want reviews of Casa Rurals (b&bs) then look at this web site.
http://www.toprural.com/
It is not an official listing site and owners have to pay to be listed but it is still teh best when looking for Casa Rurals.

Travel Tips for Coruña

La playa grande de Miño (beach)

by wanderingmonk

If you plan to spend a few days in Coruña, never miss la playa de Miño.
It is big, clean, with lots of golden sand, a picnic area, it is the perfect place to spend the whole day. Unlike Riazor/Orzán, the water is clean and never cold, and the waves are big but safe. I loved the waves there when I was a little kid. In summer time, the weather is more pleasant and gentler than the oppresive heat in the mediterranean coast. Honestly this beach is far better than those mediterranean beaches packed with tourists. You can get there by car and there may be buses.
Note: not to be mistaken with the Miño river

The Harbour is busy enough to need a Control Tower

by dabidc

The impressive tower, a modern addition to the city skyline is, I believe the high rise Control Tower that houses the staff that handles the movement of ships and boats within and into and out of the harbour.
