The end of the world.

Finisterre is the western most point of spain and where they used to say the world ended before America was discoverd.
It´s a windswept but pretty place where you have the famous cape aswell as a small nearby village that is quite cosy and has nice restaurants by the harbour.

It´s also the end of the journey for many of the pilgrims who have walked the whole Camino De Santiago and after arriving to Santiago they walk the last kilometers up to Finesterre where they abandon their shoes and they have even made a little statue of a hiking boot out by the cape.

The lighthouse at Finisterre is located at the western most point of Europe or so called the end of the world. It stands high above the rocky cliffs and the panoramic views are just spectacular.

"The Coast of Death"

Finisterre is also part of Spain known as the Coast of Death. It is said to be one of the most dangerous sea points in the world. These treacherous rocks have destroyed all kinds of ships in tragic shipwrecks that followed a wrong path.

"For the Lives That Were Lost"

The monument was constructed for us to remember all the lives that were lost at sea. People that come to visit leave little gifts at the altar.
