This is a New refugio Right in the centre of town, Large with loads of beds in one large room. There are Good Shower, Toilet and Kitchen facilities. There is also a nice garden area to sit out in !!
There are two bars, one of them is right opposite, and one just down the road but neither does food however there is a shop selling all the provisions that you might wish for to cook yourself an evening meal.
The town it's self is a bit un-interesting but the refugio is quite a nice place to stay !!!
This Nice Little Hotel is just outside the Old City Walls, It is Very Clean, Run by Very Friendly people and " Rooms Economica " are available " !! and of course if you wish there are also en-suite rooms also available at a slightly higher price too !!
Handy for the city centre, the cathedral and all other city attractions -- just a Good Choice for somewhere to stay in Leon !!!
Room prices start at 26 euro per room !!
The Main reason that I am mentioning this place apart from myself and Stevie staying there is that it puts you within Easy walking distance of Leon if you are wishing to spend a half day there to be able to explore the city !!
The Green Dolphin is a bit run down, the rooms aren't so clean and the toilets and showers are very poor -- smelly even !!!
But the Food is Really Good !!
Prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly enough but you won't find anyone around early in the morning !! there is a vending machine so you can get yourself a breakfast of sorts !!
This refugio was described in our book as Very Basic with No Beds or Running water !!
However when we got there we discovered that the Volunteers had been Hard at Work and have now installed two Excellent Hot water showers as well as Good toilets
True there aren't beds but sleeping mats are provided and there are only four people to a room so there is Loads of space !!
Run by Very Friendly volunteers who speak some English and have loads of useful information and provide you with a an EXCELLENT evening meal as well as a Great breakfast
There isn't a set charge however you are invited to leave a donation
The Sun-Set here will be a Highlight of your trip so Don't miss it and the Gregorian chant that accompanies it will be forever in your memory !!
The town is exceptionally friendly with locals congregating outside the refugio in the evening to chat with the pilgrims.
Don't miss this refugio as it is Sure to be a Highlight of Your Camino !!!
This is a great Privately run refugio Right in the centre of town, it has some private rooms available at a very reasonable 7e per room if you prefer some privacy as well as dormitories. There is also a Very nice garden area to sit out in !!
There is a bar right next door, it doesn't do food in the evening but does open Early for Breakfast Coffee !! and also attached is a small shop selling all the provisions that you might wish for to cook yourself an evening meal in the Well equipped kitchen !!
a Very well run and Friendly place to stay and well recommended !!!
This is a great little refugio Right in the centre of town, it only has 15 beds so don't arrive late in peek times otherwise you will not get a bed !!
Run by Very Friendly volunteers who speak some English and have loads of useful information and even provide you with a breakfast !!
Good dinner available in local restaurant or good kitchen facilities in the refugio
Showers are coin operated but Very Good
Only one toilet so you might have to queue in the morning !!
It's a nice hostel next to the center for 15 €/night. It looked like a 5 star hotel to me compared to the hostels I was used when I finished the way of Saint James.
You can book a room here at Pilgrim's Office Travel Agency. If you have the chance take a look to the hostess, it's another monument.
You can find lots of accomodations in Santiago. If you wander around the cathedral, you'll find some old woman who offer you a room for 10 € or less. I wouldn't generally accept this because sometimes they offer rooms with unhealthy conditions...
Santiago has many small hotels to choose from.We went in late July & had no trouble finding a room in the centre of the city.
