Travel Tips for Santiago de Compostela

The People that you meet " on the Road " !!!

by into-thin-air

Without Doubt one of the Greatest things about doing a walk like the Camino de Santiago is the people that you meet on the Road !! One of the Nicest people that we met up with this time was a young Lady by the name of Asia, and she was doing the walk as a pilgrimage representing her family back in Poland !!

Rain

by keltic

That´s up to you, just leave empty space into the luggage for shopping. Weather is mild but wet. Temperatures reach from 10 in winter to 30 in summer with frecuent rain. Always pack a umbrella even in summer. Don´t use shorts into the cathedral.

Charming place with an Italian flavour

by keltic about A Calderería Café

This entchanting place in the main comercial street of the old town boasts to be the friendliest place in town. The place is beautifully decorated with stone wall, wood, a lovely covered patio with a glass roof and other eclectic elements. Quiet, peaceful, and lovely. The perfect place for a break, and a good italian coffee. His italian owner is really friendly and helpfull. Best service in town. Prices are cheap.

Streets of Santiago

by freya_heaven

The streets throughout the old town of Santiago are very grand, they all seem to leaf off & to the cathedral square. Most of the streets in this area are pedestrianised.

There are some wonderful looking hotels & restaurants in this area of the town, with prices to match their image.
