New modern clean hotel
I stayed in this hotel for a week during the fiestas of late june 2006. The hotel was modern and immaculately clean, in fact the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Design of the hotel building was a little soulless, surrounded by a small garden area. Reminded me of a large modern city centre hotel but strangely dropped into a small picturesque spanish town.
For some reason, it's situated in the middle of a new residential area, and completely surrounded by residential buildings. Approx five minutes walk from the centre of the small but beautiful town of haro. I would highly recomend this hotel as a base for the rioja region although for a more traditional spanish hotel I would look elsewhere.
Service was satisfactory, although reception staff were cold bordering on ignorant. If not for a pleasant chat with the room cleaner I would have assumed the whole hotel staff did not want guests there.
In summary, a great hotel let down by ignorant reception staff.. their apathy was unfortunately the only blemish on an otherwise perfect trip.
