Moratalla
Moratalla cannot deny its moorish origins. This enchanting little town situated on a hill in the Northwest part of the region of Murcia is a perfect example of moorish settlement with winding steep streets and whitewhased façades. As you see it from the distance, you will be impressed by the small houses and the magnitude of its castle and the church, on top of the town.
The houses of Moratalla are placed in different levels on the hill, all of them very close to each other. In that way, most of the houses have a wonderful view on the surrounding landscape.
The narrow lanes of Moratalla, if steep, are inviting for strolls, provided you do not do it in the heat of the mid summer afternoons, when everybody is sheltered from the burning sun.
