Things to do in Murcia

Hi! I will be visiting Murcia for one week in April and know nothing about the region apart from what I've just learnt on this website! If anyone has some tips for places of interest I'd be most grateful. The more wierd and wonderful the better!

I wonder what sightly place would delight you. From Murcia you may go to Carta-
gena (there's beaches there) or to Alicante (there's trains in this city to Barcelona and Valencia). Below a attached some links from Murcia and Cartagena

Yes - I guess I wasn't being very specific! We are staying in the sierra region but I'm not sure of the exact location yet. I enjoy historic ruins, natural wonders, rugged scenary, caves and beautiful, small towns. (Especially ones with markets!) I've noted that there are some prehistoric caves in Granada which excited me, but when I looked them up all I could find was converted caves for sale!
We will have access to a car to explore the region.

Travel Tips for Murcia
THE TOWN HALL

Before arriving to the Cathedral,we saw all this huge and beautiful area.
This colorfull and beautiful building is Murcia's Town Hall,it is located just next to the riverside and you can take a look inside aswell,sometime you can find here very good expositions.The town hall is also very close to the Cathedral and other interesting places in the city.Murcia is not a very big city,so the best choice to see everything in the old town,is walking!.I had a very nice and warm spring day in Murcia as you can see on my pictures.

"First Visit"
I flew into Alicante and managed to catch a bus almost immediately outside the airport direct to Murcia (4-5 Euros). An elderly couple were yelling at the bus driver because he didn't have change and wouldn't wait for them to go shopping, so the rest of us were treated pleasantly to make up for the scene. Trip wasn't too long...interesting orchards off the highway, but too far to see well. Driving would have been more scenic.
