It was built in 1862 by Manuel Molina. It was opened by Queen Isabel II. Justo Millan had to rebuilt it after two terrible fires in 1877 and 1899. Designed in a variety of styles, it houses paintings by Medina Vera, Latorre and Meseguer. Julian Romea the famous local actor has given the theater its name as is the square in which it stands.

MURCIA,is an autonomous region located Southeast of Spain,it has an extension of 11,321 sq Km.
This region former a Moorish Kingdom in the past,and also was settle by the Cartaghinians,who founded on (3d cent. BC) the port of Cartago Nova,(now it is called Cartagena) and is the second most important city in the region.
Although all this region is one of driest and hottest places in Europe,a irrigation system (datinfg from Moorish times) and a few very fertile valleys,specially on the Segura River, permit the grow of citrics and other fruits,vegetables,olives,grains,
grapes.For this reason this region is also known for the Europe's Orchard,and is one of most important things for the economy of the region.Lately a lot of inmigrant people mostly from Morocco and a few countries in Latin America are coming to Murcia to work collecting the fruits.Most of these people are integrated now into the way of life in the region of Murcia.
