Here too the main attraction...

Here too the main attraction (for me) was the nature that is in unspoiled way everywhere around you. Swimming in a lake after which some sunbathing warms you up again (the lakewater is generaly very cold). Then in the evening you gather some wood in the forest to build a fire at the waterside. Slowly the air is turning into it's magnificent red colours and shades grow longer. It will not be completely dark as the sun only disappears behind the horizon for an hour. The night is calm when you lay in the tent and the morning brings another day to hike through the forests and discover some new (or equally beautiful old) items in nature.
Julbord (Christmas Meal)
by ratherton
I hate Julbords !!!! As far as I'm concerned, a Christmas meal is a big Roast Turkey, cranberry sauce and all the trimmings.
A Julbord is the Swedish Christmas meal and consists of a variety of meats and fish such as pickled herring, smoked sausages and meatballs. There is also rice pudding and to drink glogg, various wines and spirits.
Personally, there is very little food at a Julbord that I like and last Christmas before our company Julbord, me and a couple of other guys I work with, went to the pub for a burger before going to the meal. An English Christmas meal is one a the things I really miss about home.
Utklippan - a beautiful...
by nickenyfiken
Utklippan - a beautiful small island, the one farthest out in the achipelago. It's very small with a small lighthouse on it, and some yellow cottages where the person that looked after the lighthouse lived earlier. When I was there, there were also a lot of unusually tame seabirds flying around all the time, and you can swim in the usually pretty cold water almost anywhere on the island. It's known for one very rare kind of frog that lives there and another also very rare kind of little plant.
To get there you have to go in a private boat, though summertime it happens pretty often that sailorships which visit the city's harbour arrange daytrips to the island. The tourist office at the square (Stortorget) knows about that. Recently I heard that this summer there will be arranged regular trips twice a week to this island.

"King Carl XI Statue at Karlskrona Centrum"
Karlskrona is an exceptionally well preserved
example of a European naval base, and although its
design has been influenced by similar undertakings
it has in turn acted as a model for comparable
installations. Naval bases played an important part
during the centuries when the strength of a nation?s
navy was a decisive factor in European power politics,
and of those that remain from this period Karlskrona
is the most complete and well preserved

My visit to Karlskrona was short, only for a day. I was as an Exchange student in Ronneby, a small town close by, for two weeks. One of the teachers took us to Karlskrona for a day and we also drove there with the classmates for a beer one evening...
These travel pages are about RONNEBY a small town in the South part of Sweden by the seashore.
Here are the best of Ronneby sightseeing...
In the big pic some architecture in the center of Ronneby.
