regarding buying laptops

by rubenjohnson88

is there any used laptop shops available in karlskrona??? how much will be the rate of a used laptop in karlskrona???

Re: regarding buying laptops

Most trade in used things in Sweden happen on the internet on advertising sites such as Blocket.se and Tradera.se etc. but even on the pages of IT companies themselves. You could try searching for "begagnad laptop" and see if there are sites there with further info in English once you go to their home page.

Graduation Day

by ratherton

Graduation celebrations in Karlskrona (and the rest of Sweden) seem a bit strange to me. The students? families dress their cars up as trees, the students dress up and sailors and then they drive around town holding up big pictures of themselves as children. Afterwards, they all go and get drunk.

Aspo

by ratherton

Aspo in a small island in the Karlskrona area and you can get there on the free ferry which runs several times a day. Some people take their cars or bikes over but you can also go as a foot passenger. There ferry takes about 20 mins to get there and once on the island, you can explore the old fort or just go for a quiet walk.

One word of warning, if you take the car, don't plan on taking the last ferry back as you can't book your place and if there is no room, you will have to leave your car there and get it in the morning.

Ferries generally run every hour but check the board at the dock for current times.

Karlskrona - A Unesco World Heritage

by gubbi1

On my roadtrip to Finland through Sweden, I stopped in Karlskrona to have a look at this world heritage. On the page of the UNESCO Karlskronas inscription is defined as followed:

"Justification for Inscription
Criterion ii: Karlskrona is an exceptionally well preserved example of a European planned naval town, which incorporates elements derived from earlier establishments in other countries and which was in its turn to serve as the model for subsequent towns with similar functions. Criterion iv: Naval bases played an important role in the centuries during which naval power was a determining factor in European Realpolitik, and Karlskrona is the best preserved and most complete of those that survive." (Source: http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/871/)

My visit was not disapointing, there is very much to see and do.

My visit was not disapointing, there is very much to see and do. I started my day with a visit to the main churches in the center of town. In one of them nowadays the visitor center is located. Here you can find a city map and information about the town. I continued with a walk through the naval part of town. In many places you will find fortifications and buildings formerly used for military purposes. Still today the Swedish Navy is located here in Karlskrona. On many buildings you will find signposted what they were used for. Close to the Marina museum for example is a building which was a quarantine house for the people coming home with deseases.

Before leaving I decided to spend a longer time in the interesting Marina Museum which gives you much information on many aspects around the sea. The exhibition shows how people were sailing and what it meant to live on the boat. It explains how people can work below the water surface and what life is found there. The major part are the ships to be found outside in the water beside the mainbuilding and in an external hall close to the entrance. I am sure you will ike it.

E-v-i-t-a's new Karlskrona Page

I remeber my first impressions, when I get to shore of Sweden. From the boat I have seen many small islands. And when I have been at the bus I could watch green nature with sheep near the streets. Sweden knowed as high developed country appeared itself as wide, incredibly beatiful and clean country.
