A very nice small hotel in downtown Karlskrona. The room was clean, bright, and modern (heated towell rack in bath!). The staff treated us quite well and were very helpful with all our "touristy" questions. The breakfasts were everything one expects from a Scandinavian hotel and more. They were so delicious it was hard to get going in the morning.
Of the hotels in the four cities we visited in Scandinavia this hotel was by far the best of all. And the least expensive!
A hostel in downtown. In the room for four people, where we lived there were two two-floored beds (so that means four single beds, but only two pieces of furniture), but you will not fall down if you sleep on the "second floor", because there are some safety-stuff and the beds are not small, there was a small kitchen with equipment for cooking (except food) in the room, a table for dining and a bathroom with shower, toilet etc. On the floor (shared with six other rooms) there were a big kitchen with equipment, tables, a sofa and a TV. Breakfast is served every day, but it costs extra.
It is centrally located and of a very high standard for being a hostel, I think, at least the rooms we lived in which are open only during the summer and other times used as a student dorm. (The hostel is open during winter, too, though.)
Situated on the small island "Dragsö" with wonderful nature two kilometers from downtown. You can camp or rent a little cottage. There is a small beach, a little restaurant, canoes to borrow, bikes to rent and lots of activities going on. It's a nice place to celebrate the Swedish holiday midsummer in the end of June. It's very clean and everybody were very friendly and helpful when I lived there.
I think the beautiful place where it is situated is unique.
We stayd at a very nice wooden big villa that was a Youth Hostel.
Cheap, nice situation close tot the park.
