A top one
Strand belongs to one of Visby's more upmarket hotels and is in fact a small hotel bought by a giant and extended thanks to merging with the former brewery building. Still, it manages to keep a fairly low key atmosphere since it is within the city walls, just a few minutes walk from the main square and the sea - in this picture you can even see one of the city gates. We have never stayed here but since we were at neighbouring Lindgården we were sent here for breakfast and I have to say that was a nice affair. In fact, the only thing I can complain about was that the scrambled eggs were too milky, but that could just be the day form of the chef :))) Other than that, they have sausages, bacon, fruit, herring, Danish pastries, toast, wholemeal bread, lots of spreads...you name it. There are also complimentary Swedish papers. Reception was friendly and everything seems very well-kept and polished. I hope the rooms are the same, having no personal experience of Best Western other than this. Oh, and all rooms are smoke free which is already a huge bonus with me.
