Stay for the food

We stayed here on the last night in Visby and were so glad we did, as that meant discovering the wonderful Lindgården inn (see restaurants). The good thing about staying here is that if you eat at the inn, you need only stumble across the yard afterwards and you are in your own bed. And let me tell you that you can dine here all evening as long as you can afford it!

The rooms themselves are in an annex to the inn, in its little town garden. The annex is built in an old fashioned style with an alley at the back, overlooking the old pharmacy. Being in an annex on a rainy day means a slightly musty smell and the furniture reminded me more of a Swedish church assembly hall than of a hotel but apart from that, everything was clean and the bed was exactly the way I want it. Not too soft but with the softer a bedding. The bathrooms have great showers even if you tend to bang into their cubicles when on the loo so Americans might be disappointed if used to bigger space :))) There is a TV and also free internet access in the rooms. Breakfast is surprisingly not at the inn, but instead in the Strand hotel just a minute's walk down the same road. Read about that in the next tip.
