Travel Tips for Åre
From world cup to novice

Let's face it. Skiing is what people come for in winter and there are around 50 lifts in the area, the cable car up Åreskutan and also cross country trails galore if that's your preferred way of skiing. World Cup slalom is often held here and 2007 will see the World Championships. You can stay in Åre itself with easy access to the cable car, or in the many areas around it, such as Duved village to the west, or child the child friendly Björnen complex. Åre village is full of ski service and rental places.

"Just beautiful"
I haven't skiied in years and years before last week. My memories of my previous trip include crowded pistes and long queues for lifts etc. Åre however seemed like a totally different experience - the people seemed more chilled out, and the pistes were lovely and quiet, so much so, that on a couple of occasions we were the only people we could see for what looked like miles.
This is just a start to the page, I will continue to build over the next few days.
