Hotel Diplomat Åregården: Best classic hotel

One of the best hotels I stayed during my ski vacation. Free internet access. A good room for keeping ski equipments.

Its artistic, comfortable, classic but functional. There is a good restaurant and a bar. Very close to ski lift and train station (50 meters). Its quiet and rooms are well-decorated. Beds are perfect and comfortable. Breakfast is included in the price and very good.

STF Södra Gröngatan: Comfortable hostel

Open summertime only, this is not the most picturesque hostel I know as it is in an ordinary apartment block but that's what gives it extraordinary value for money as the rooms are in fact apartments. In summer when the students are out, the house is a hostel and apart from a central location near the station you will find your own shower and toilet, small kitchen and TV! In fact, my only critique would be that the breakfast room, which doubles up as reception, is far too small if you want to save time and pay for their breakfast (but since you have an apartment you mostly make your own breakfast here anyway). STF also has a hostel in the wonderful Jamtli Open Air museum which is a lovely location but further from the centre.
