You are in the middle of this small medivial town, 5 minutes from the sluices, a museum and a bed-and-brekfast just beside, and the morning cafe just beside the campground on top of a little hill, which have friendly serving.
Just take a walk and see the sluices, order an ice-cream and go up on the mountain beside the channel.
Near the sluices there is some tourist shops that can be some distraction too.
To go swimming you have to go to the sea, as the channel water is a bit brownish of mud and you shall not swim there either.
