Round tour by local bus
by HORSCHECK
Take a sightseeing tour on public transport by local bus no. 20 (Ringlinjen). The bus serves a round tour through Malmo city which lasts about 50 mins. The buses leave from the train station and a single ticket is only 15 SEK (about 1,60 EURO).
Öresundsparken
by diocletianvs
Öresundsparken is situated between Ribersborg neighbourgood and Ribersborg beach park. It was created in 1920s, and features formal part with straight-lined trees as well as natural area around narrow lakes.
It's a nice place for walking, resting or finding shade during the summer, and makes a great transition between the quiet neighbourhood and active beach open to the weather changes of the Strait.
Visiting Christian Churches
by aliante1981
Christian churches - be they Protestant, Orthodox, or Catholic - are a vital part of Europe’s cultural, artistic, architectural, and religious heritage, and as such you are likely (and I really recommend doing this:)) ) to visit many of them. However, most of them are even today not only major tourist attractions, but also religious sites where people come to pray. This is something to be respected, and here are several pieces of advice I would like to give that might help avoid ill-feeling:
- Dress modestly, covering shoulders and most part of the legs (women in Orthodox churches might be requested to put on something to cover the head);
- Do not speak loudly - all the descriptions are better either read in silence or given outside;
- Try not to walk too much during the service;
- Avoid using flash in your camera near people you see praying;
- Respect notes that forbid entrance to some parts of the church that are designated as ‘for prayer only’.
Following these simple guidelines helped me when I visited, I guess, more than 1000 churches up to date :)))
Sunny days by the sea
by Sjalen
On any sunny day, Malmö's citizens gather in Västra Hamnen to walk along the seafront promenade, have a coffee or Italian ice cream in a cafe and just people watch. See the second picture just to see how crowded it can get on a really good day. There is also the Scaniabadet jetty where you can go swimming and further plans to build a seawater pool complex there. Homeowners in the area complain about the traffic and noise on sunny days but the rest of us locals love it too and want to be part of it all even if we cannot afford the house prices here or refuse to pay the high rents.
