Skånegården
Skånegården is situated 800 metres on from the Öresund Bridge toll. This information centre can be reached only from the road from Denmark. Skånegården is a typical 19th century farmhouse and has been carefully restored. Find out information on Malmö, Skåne and the rest of Sweden, or just take a break in the café.

When coming to Malmö you must...
by Mallafri
When coming to Malmö you must see the bridge between Malmö and Copenhagen. This bridge has been planned since the 1960's but was just recently built. It not only connects Sweden to Denmark, but it is also very beautiful to look at, especially at night. What I miss the most, not living in my lovely home town anymore, is the ocean and the beach parties. We have a wonderful beach on the west coast of Malmö, and every summer people flock to the beach to grill themselves during the day and party during the night. As you walk down the beach you'll hear the waves role in and see dussins of open fires where people are having a barbeque and a drink with some friends. People in Malmö are very friendly and if you are a tourist walking down you are sure to be stopped and talked to. You see men in Malmö are real gentlemen and would like tourists, especially female tourists, to feel at home during their holiday in Malmö. :-)
Kungsparken & Slottsparken
by diocletianvs
Kungsparken (the King’s Park) is park around Malmöhus Castle, the oldest renaissance castle in Scandinavia built in 1437. The castle had its glory days in 16th century when the Danish kings used it as their residence. The King’s Park was the first large park opened to the public in Malmö in 1872 by the Swedish King Oscar II. The park is filled with flowers, rare trees and shady avenues. It is connected with the bridges over canal with the Slottsparken.
Slottsparken (the Castle Park) was opened in 1900 and was designed as an open-air park with large green spaces. It features large wooded areas with lawns and ponds typical of 19th century landscape gardening, as well as many different sculptures, a small Japanese garden and a birds colony close to one of the park’s lakes.
Slottsträdgården (the Castle Garden) behind Malmöhus Castle is an organic garden, created a few years ago by a British gardener. It is open to the public all year round, with a small café open during the summer season. You can buy plants and flowers, get some advice on gardening or just enjoy the beautiful setting of the garden.
Scaniaparken
by diocletianvs
Scaniaparken is a waterfront park north of Daniaparken, in the Västra Hamnen area. It is more natural in its concept, with less design features, and fulfills one of the aims of the transformation of this once industrial area into an attractive environment for people from the whole region. It is nice place for walking or jogging along the Öresund Strait.

Winter bathing
by Sjalen
Some Malmö people have a habit of swimming in the Öresund Strait not only in summer but also in freezing winter. This picture is from Sibbarp's Cold Water Bath and NO, those minus signs are NOT a mistake as the picture is from 16 February...
