Seaside and culture
by Sjalen
What I think everyone who goes to Malmö should do is go to the seaside. Either the beach and jetties of famous Ribersborg (picture) or a walk in the shadow of the Öresund Bridge at Sibbarp further out. North of Sibbarp is Limhamn marina with its yachts and the yacht club restaurant if you fancy a sit down after your walk. If scenic walking is not what you're after, then visit one of the many art galleries or museums in town. There are also plenty of little design shops in the city centre. Finally, KB, Slagthuset and Hipp are well-known throughout Sweden for their various rock concerts and shows. I like to be in a city which is well-organised and full of water like the rest of Sweden, yet close enough to the rest of Europe to feel very un-Swedish at times.

The best Malmö Tourist information is here at Malmo.com. For some nice Malmö maps, click on the link labeled "Maps" on the left side.
Malmo.se has some more good information about the city.
Of course, you can always wait until you are in Malmö and stop at the tourist information desk at Central Station.
Go to the city square
by Packerman
Go to the city square which is just south of the train station. There are a number of interesting buildings and statues. From there walk south on the pedestrian streets. There are plenty of shops and things to see. Our son fell asleep in his stroller so we were able to sit at an outdoor cafe in a small square just west of the main city square. It was a gorgeous sunny day in May and I could tell the Swedes were very happy with the weather. My wife ate an excellent Greek salad.

trickle down into the drunken vixen

We all drink like herrings!

Hell and gore,

Hell and gore,

DRINK THE WHOLE SHOT!!
Drink it down like that priest!
Swedes are a music loving...
by DanielF
Swedes are a music loving people. It is easy to find music festivals in the streets of every town and city in the country, or simply people performing dances or coreographies, like theses girls in Malmö's main square. Malmö is hometown to some of Sweden's better known pop groups, like the Cardigans.
