Stay-At Kista

I would definitely stay here again. Considering we were on a budget this was a great option for us. We got more for our money by staying a little out of the centre - a really spacious studio apartment with kitchen facilities. There was a slight mix up with our room to begin with and we ended up with an even better one with separate bedroom and living area.

We had a fridge, two ring hob, microwave, coffee maker, crockery etc plus TV, sofa, lots of storage and space and a lovely clean room.

Its ajoined to the Kista Galleria shopping mall (you don't even have to go outside) and just 2 mins from the Kista underground station so you can get to the city easily and there is a supermarket and other amenities right on your doorstep.

Unique Quality: We had breakfast included, which was served in a cafe in the Galleria [but right beside the hotel] through a voucher system. It was a really great buffet breakfast which more than set us up for the day

The hotel shares a building with student apartments but the hotel rooms were on the top three floors and there was no noise or anything.

This place worked really well for us. We had a really nice room and probably spent less on food & drinks thanks to having a supermarket so conveniently close and even a food court where we ate out & also got takeaway rather than trying to eat in touristy areas all the time. Even having a fridge helped us save ourselves buying so many drinks in the city centre.

The Tunnelbana station was really handy and meant it really only took about 20 mins into the city centre. There appeared to be buses from Arlanda airport stopped outside the station also.

One of the best deals in Stockholm

Stockholm accomodation is very expensive. We were looking for a good place to stay with a toddler, and Kista Galleria is it! For about US$40 per person, you get a two room apartment with plenty of room for a two year old to explore. It includes a kitchenette with all utensils. It is in the same complex as a shopping mall which has two grocery stores, so you can easily do your own catering. The Kista subway stop is a two minute walk from the hotel, which will take you to Central Stockholm in about 15 minutes.

Unique Quality: If you stay here, you get the Stockholm a la carte card which entitles you to free transport on all subways, buses, some ferries, a few cruises, and entrance to over 70 museums. This is a great deal considering each bus or subway ride is at least $1.50, and entrance to museums is usuall 50 to 70 SEK ($8-10). The card does not give you free admission to the Vasamuseet or to Skansen, two must sees in Stockholm.

Surrounding area of Accome Kista Hotel Apartment

by winsonmkhan

We have booked an apartment at this hotel for the end of the year and like to know whether there are shops, restuarants and other amenities around it. How far it is to the nearest metro station. Also appreciate some info on the cost of food and drinks in Stockholm like that of a McD burger, a bottle of mineral water, etc.

Thank you

Winson

Yes, it's in the Kista Shopping Mall complex with more than 100 different shops (open until 21.00 at night) and a cinema plus several restaurants (incl. McDonalds). You can see what type of shops here:

I wouldn't say McDonalds cost the same everywhere. Have a look here:

You don't really need to buy bottled water in Sweden as tap water is perfectly drinkable. But sure, you might want it when walking around town I suppose. It's quite expensive though since it is considered luxury and you often pay five crowns extra for the bottle itself.

If you want to know how to get around town, have a look here: http://www.sl.se
The metro stops in the shopping mall (Kista station).
