Considering the Ariston Hotel Stockholm in Stockholm?

Neighbourhoods: Gamla Stan by Maline
Gamla Stan is south of Norrmalm and you get there by crossing one of the bridges. One suggestion is going down the street of Drottninggatan and the walk via the small island of Helgeandsholmen, that hosts the parliament building. (See pic)
Gamla Stan ("Old Town") is the site of the original town. The first mention of the name "Stockholm" was in a letter by king Birger jarl in the year 1252, so last year (2002) the city celebrated its 750th anniversary.
Gamla stan is a place to walk slowly through. Many narrow passages and old style buildings in this part of town. Also, the Royal Castle is here.
