One time when I didn't had the possibility to stay with my usual friends I went to hostel located in a boat, its called 'Den Roda Baten' (Red Boat) not far from the centre or the old town and much cheaper then any hotel around.
Unique Quality: Unique beautiful small pub on the boat.
Directions: Near the Slussen metro station
I will be in Stockholm 15-19 of April. Im looking really cheap and nice place for 2 persons - it can be hostel / chaep but nice hotel or? We want to meet people, visit Stockholm so all your experiences will be really good. Thx for any info!
Hi, Have you checked www.hostelworld.com ? There is this cool converted prison that gets rave reviews! Långholmen, near Södermalm. (hostelworld's listing under 'Langholmens Vandrarhem')
Obviously, depends of the neighbourhood you're after for the commuting, but Stockholm itself is a collection of islands..
And, definitely go to Kaknas Towers, Eastern Stockholm, for BREATHTAKING views of Stockholm :)
You could try Skeppsholmen Hostel, not far from the famous Af Chapman "boat-hostel." I haven't stayed there myself, but I had lunch there, and the place looked pretty good.
Take a look at http://www.hihostels.com/dba/hostels-Jugendherbergen-Stockholm---af-Chapman-&-Skeppsholmen-054001.en.htm is you're interested.
STF Fridhemsplans is a good one too (I work in Sthlm so I haven't stayed at any hotel): www.fridhemsplan.se.
The City Backpackers in Stockholm is okay...

The Connect Hotel in Alvsjo is also nice, but it is about 10 minutes by train from Stockholm Central station.

Oh yes, Connect Hotel is very nice. I have been there with friends who have stayed there and I liked what I saw. The cheaper rooms don't have ensuite bathroom but the shared bathrooms were spotless.
And the location is good too, only 10 minutes (if not less) by commuter train and about 7 minutes on foot from the train station called Älvsjö, where you have 2 commuter train lines at your disposition.
THANK YOU!!! you all are really super team! next time you should visit Warszawa:)
Been there, although for only about 30 hours, great city and very hospitable people to us who can't speak Polish!!!!
You can also try the Den Roda Baten which is the red boat :)
Is Warszawa is Warsaw? I know a band in that name ;-)
Tack så mycket. Jag var mycket upptagen på senaste dagarna (?) så jag ska göra en reservation i kväll. Thank you :) , first I need to check if they have any free rooms in this days and than I will decide. Kram!
Gili: answering your question -> yup.
Joanna: Hopefully they'll have something on your budget, otherwise we'll keep looking.
