Not a good experience
Booked a King Sized room in this hotel with travel company at cost of £230 per night not including breakfast. Arrived to find we had been allocated a tiny matchbox of a room, bed pressed up against radiator on one side and 2ft from wall on other, in fact this was a single room with a double bed in it. Only place to put suitcase was in front of the desk/dresser, so had to move suitcase every time we needed access. Air conditioning did not work, so window had to be left open all night and as we were above the hotel ventilation fans (this was the only view), the room was also noisy. No tea and coffee making facility, no complementary water. We asked for tea and coffee for the room and found this charged to our account on departure.
When we suggested to staff that we had booked a king sized room they simply said that the room we had been given was the only one left so that was what we had to take. Seemed to think we should be grateful to be given a room at all!
I have had better experience in small bed & breakfast accommodation at a fraction of the price paid at the Diplomat Hotel. Great location, terrible hotel.
Unique Quality: No tea and coffee in room. No complementary water. View of ventilation fans. Run down premises.
