Hotel Gustav Vasa

The Gustav Vasa is a small 33 room, family-run hotel in the Norrmalm/Vasastad district of the city. In a studenty district, it is close to the City Library and the observatory. There is a T-bana (metro) station (Odenplan) just across the square, and a number of major bus routes run nearby. It is about a 10 minute walk to the main shopping street.

This is a good 2/3-star standard hotel, more aimed at tourists than business. It is a converted apartment building, so some of the rooms are oddly arranged and located, and there are areas that are common with the rest of the appartment block. Our room was nice and big, and had a double and single bed. Breakfast was continental buffet-style, with a limited, but adequate, range.

We stayed here in July/August 1998 and paid an average of SEK 786 per night for a double room.
