Staying in the 5* Hilton was a wonderful experience!

Not one complaint, everything was perfect, and all the staff were friendly and helpful above the line of duty!

We booked into a Queen Room, which was very roomy. Our room was at the back, looking down onto the street, the more expensive Deluxe Room has city views.
Fresh, clean, non-smoking room, it had a large Queen bed with lovely fluffy bathrobe's waiting for us! The writing desk was big, so plenty of room for two people to be writing at the desk the same time. A safe was nice to have, and we always enjoy tea & coffee making facilities. A mini-bar, free internet and more, too numerous to mention.
Oh! I loved the large, Marble bathroom!

It's located within walking distance to the Old Town, infact, we walked from the Train station to here, it wasn't very far away.

Breakfast is served in the Panorama Restaurant which overlook's the water. A full excellent buffet Breakfast, plus the view, I didn't want to leave!.

We left our baggage in storage on the day we were to leave. Nearly forgot, a Hotel this size has elevator's, and they are very secure for the guest's of this Hotel, you need your guest card to operate them.

Our stay here was excellent, and we would not hesitate to return for another wonderful stay.

    Convenient Hotel

Nice hotel situated in a Beautiful riverside location. Service and decorations were very swedish which means very IKEA look. Like most European Hotels, the rooms were very very small and some of my Australian Colleagues were complaining that the bed was too small for them (Well try losing some weight mate !)

Excellent Bar at the hotel which gave us excellent opportunities to see the sunset at 11.30pm and sun rise at 1.30am during the midnight sun summer !

Good breakfast spread and services were excellent ! Thumbs up !

Unique Quality: Very good location and a short walk to the old district of Stockholm.

    Stockholm Hilton Slussen

We had always wanted to stay at this hotel because of its excellent location looking over the lake towards Stockholm's old town (Gamla stan). We finally got the opportunity during New Year 2006, when a special deal meant that we could stay in one of the best rooms in the hotel without breaking the bank.

We got a king double "executive" room for SEK 1,395 per night (that is about GBP 105, or EUR 150). More than we would normally spend, but it was well worth it. Our room was on the top floor, and we had fantastic views over the lake and Gamla stan (see pics). What is more, we had access to the exclusive club lounge on the same floor. This was a bit like an airport club lounge, but with better views. Very stylishly furnished with comfy chairs and an open fire. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, and light snacks were available all day, and in the afternoon/evening there was beer, wine and spirits too. And snacks here does not mean just a bowl of peanuts! This was caviar and smoked salmon canapes, fresh bread, cheese and cold meats, as well as excellent sweets and pastries. And all included in the price. It was really nice to be able to come back in out of the cold (it was minus 8 degrees C) at the end of the day and relax in the warm with a coffee, cake and scotch, and not have to worry about Swedish prices.

This is modern and stylish hotel, with efficient service. The room was very comfortable, although maybe a little small by international standards. Breakfast was very good, although quite busy. If you are in an executive room, you can have breakfast in the club lounge, which is much more relaxed.

The hotel is very well located, close to the Slussen bus and metro interchange, which makes it very convenient for getting almost anywhere in Stockholm. It is walking distance to Gamla stan, and close to the excellent bars and restaurants on Södermalm.

We had a great time here, and although it cost a bit extra, we felt that we got good value for money. It was very nice to start the new year with a bit of affordable luxury.

Unique Quality: Fantastic location with views over the lake and the old town.
Spoil yourself rotten if you can get a good deal on an executive room.
    Good transport connections.

Directions: From Slussen T-bana main entrance, cross the square towards the lake, and the hotel is the first building facing the lake on your left.

    Nice hotel and good location

Overall it was a very good stay....they serve a good breakfast buffet every morning. Ask for a room overlooking the water and you'll get a good view of Stockholm.

Its fairly close to Slussen Metro stop and the metro is a good way to get around. There is a lot of shopping nearby if thats what you like.

Unique Quality: Had a pretty good gym at the hotel. Rooms were somewhat small but ok.

Directions: Slussen Metro stop and then about 5 minute walk. Look for the Hilton flags.

Bad hotel, god service

by TripAdvisor Member mark_go

We recently stayed two nights at the Hilton Stockholm while visiting our friends in Sweden for the first time.
The location is good with just a five minute walk to the old town.
Our bedroom was very small and we didn't have any place to put our luggage. The room was definitely not worth the price!
The staff was friendly and polite.
We had the pleasure of dealing with Matt who works as a bellboy. He truly is an asset to the hotel!

Excellent hotel in great area

I stayed at the Hilton Slussen hotel in Stockholm during a business conference also held there. The rooms and conference facilities were excellent - expecially the food. The rooms were a bit small but modern and the bed good.

There is an excellent fitness centre at the hotel which opens very early.

The area around the hotel is not central Stockholm but within walking distance none the less to the most interesting sites.

Would stay here again.

A room with a view!

by A TripAdvisor Member

Nice firendly hotel with a great breakfast buffe. At Slussen Sodermalm, Stockholm facing north towards the Island of the Old town with the Royal castle etc. Be absolutely sure to get at room with the wonderful view!!! Room service food was fine. We got Hamburgers, pasta etc.

Hilton, really?

by TripAdvisor Member Londoner_8

I stayed here over the Easter Weekend in April 2006. The architecture of the hotel is the main selling point, and I think the other features are lacking. For a Hilton, you definitely expect more. The Jacuzzi in the gym, which is open to the public with membership, (so it usually is quite packed) was broken. The breakfast is excellent and I could not have asked for anything more. The staff were very nice.

The reception staff were patronising and we were not greeted by a bell boy, which you would expect from staying at a 5* Hilton.

We had booked a triple room and when we turned up, they hadn’t set up the extra bed. We went to the reception desk to enquire, and they said one would be done for us. For a 5* Hilton, you would expect it to be made up already, and considering the hotel was not very busy, I can only consider that they have bad management. We also asked for more towels and an extra bathrobe, and took absolutely ages and had to be reminded because they took That long.

The location is very nice, although building on top of railway lines is certainly interesting, however, on the other sides one can look out onto the Old Town and over the water.

Be prepared for an average 4* hotel and not a 5* Hilton and you won’t be disappointed.

New Year's Eve in Stokholm

by Incubus30

I will be visiting StoCkholm from the 28th DeC amd spending New Year's Eve there.
I am really looking forward to this trip and would like to capture the beauty of this city as much as possible.

I would like to know which is the best area to stay during this time.I set my eyes on the Hilton Slussen hotel since it is close to the Old City (2min). Is this a good choice?
