My favourite place in...
by chantie
My favourite place in Stockholm is Gammla Stan (Old Town). It's in the centre of the city and, as its name says, the old part of the town. The streets are small and croocked and go up and down, everywhere are cpzy little shops and it is perfect to buy some tourist souvenirs :)
On the square in the middle of the old town, Roxette (yes my faves) recorded most of the video to their single 'Fading like a Flower'. They also used the 'Stadhuset' (Town hall) in that video, which is also an absolute must to see when you visit Stockholm. Though beware of all the messages the Roxette-fans left on this beautiful building... it wasn't me!! My best memory of Stockholm until now would be... Meeting Sarah at the boat terminal!! Sounds very stupid but we hadn't seen each other for a while. Sarah is my best friend and she lives in Stockholm for a year. I travelled more than 24 hours to Stockholm, had to wait for 4 hours at the boat terminal for the boat from Helsinki to arrive and there she was! She was with a group of our friends who all went to Helsinki.
Second best memory is OF COURSE the marvelous concert of ROXETTE that I went to at the Globen arena, in November 2001!
Gamla Stan - the old town
by Waoife
Go for a walk around the old town (Gamla Stan). With it's cobbled pedestrianised streets it's really easy to spend a few hours strolling round this pretty area of the city.
A good place to buy a few postcards & souvenirs.
The numerous cafes & shops selling freshly made waffles & delicious ice cream are an added attraction!!!

Skeppsholmen
by Tomtom-Paris
Skeppsholmen, small island between Gamla Stan and Djurgården. There are three museums (the modern art museum, Far East museum and the Swedish museum of architecture) and the boat hostel : the Chapman. Near the boat there is a platform where you can dive and swim!
Hotdogs
by elPierro
Americans may find Hotdogs to be something American to find back in Stockholm. But for the Scandinavians Hotdogs are something of their own.
They consume more hotdogs than americans do, so it's a part of culture to be trying out one.
And the best thing, they are pretty cheap, you can get them for as much as SEK10,-
