I stayed here a few times when I was doing up my flat
and another when all my freinds were on holiday and
wanted something cheap, close to the centre and it`s
in a green area with Tantolunden close by which is great
to see in the Summer with folk dancing, jazz concerts, tango
etc.
Local transport bus / train
None of the buses that run along Hornsgatan goes to the city centre.
The underground is better for this purpose.
Bus no. 4 has one of its stops on Hornsgatan and it's called "Varvsgatan".
The commuter trains stop at "Södra Station". To get there, you can either walk
or take bus no. 4. Stockholm International Fair in Älvsjö is just one stop away
from "Södra Station".
Unique Quality:
friendly staff and lots of Swedes stay here as it has a good
reputation.

This Hostel was 6 blocks south of the Zinkensdamm T-Bana terminal which made it real handy for going out and seeing the city.
Unique Quality: We stayed in a room for 4 with two sets of bunks. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Be sure and bring your own sheets or rent them for 45 SEK per person/night. Bath and restrooms are shared ...again very clean. Kitchen and diningroom was a fun place. We were able to rent a "safety deposit box" in a refrigerator to store our perishables.

Vandrarhem Zinkensdamm The vandrarhem is one of the nicest hostels I ever been to. The backyard is really beautiful and a good meeting point...The rooms are clean and each person has a locker in the room. There also is a small cafe to have a snack or a cup of coffee. Hotel rooms are also available!
Zinkensdamm Youth Hostel & Hotel is a really nice and friendly hostel in Soedermalm area of Stockholm. We paid 140 Swedish Crowns for a night. in a 4 bedded room (approx. 15 Euros). One of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed in. Nice backyard where you can sit in the evenings like in a beergarden. Great beds and rooms. Everybody gets their own locker in the room. Very friendly staff.
Although it's a youth hostel, the prices are quite high in my opinion compared to other hostels I've stayed in in Sweden. This hostel is very big, but it's a very popular hostel, so book in advance, otherwise you probably can't stay here. The hostel has mostly rooms for 4 people, and also a small house with 8 beds, so if you're travelling in a group...
We stayed with 4 people in one room. So we had the whole room for ourselves. It's not very large. For each bed there is a locker in the room with your own key. Toilets and showers are shared.
You can reach the location with the tube. ( 10 minutes from central station) The tube-station is Zinkensdamm. + beautiful spot in the park

A good friend´s parents always stay at Noréns malmgård, with one of Stockholms most beautiful views and close to good bars and restaurants. Södermalm. It´s a bit too far to walk to the city centre, but with the red metro line you´ll get there fast. 750 kr a night for a single room and about 1000 skr for a double. Closest metro is Zinkensdamm. You can walk to Slussen from here, along Hornsgatan. There are lots of restaurants and small shops on the way, especially in the end of Hornsgatan where you can find high quality handicraft (jewellery, silverwork, glass, cheramics…) and cafés.

I pretend to fly to STockholm at the end of the year to spend a week of holiday there with my two kids.
Does anybody know a cheep or funny place to stay? Or is anybody interested in exchanging his apartment?
