Arts venue Tyrol?

by YankInAus

Hi. I'm going to a performance at the Tyrol and was curious about eating options nearby, as well as food at the venue. THere is a "show and food" option in addition to the show only option.

Has anyone been to a performance there?

I have never been at the Tyrol, but I know a cafe and restaurant nearby. It is called Bla Porten. The website is in Swedish only, but the most essential information are easy to understand: http://www.blaporten.com/

Tyrol is one of the restaurants at the Gröna Lund amusement park so yes, I've eaten there a few times when my daughter drags us there. Of course I don't know if they have a special meal deal during shows, but their a la carte is generally perfectly OK even if nothing outstanding. As you can judge from the name, you get schnitzels and similar things but also more typical Swedish things, and international meat dishes and such. Here is the look of it:

If you check the side menu you see "Tyrols bakficka". This is the part of the restaurant which faces the park fun so that's where I've eaten - as you can see it's Alpine inspired. The whole place is very famous and have seen lots of entertainment throughout the years.

Travel Tips for Stockholm

Visiting Stockholm in Winter

by niamey00

Stockholm is a beautiful city, especially a lit up with Christmas decorations, but the days are very short. The sun sets before 3:00 p.m. in late December early January, so be prepared for darkness. The candles that many restaurants and other shops put outside their doors are a nice quaint touch.

Nice buildings

by Rupanworld

I don't know what this building is and what is it used for but I loved this building so much that I took so many photos. It is situated close to the Royal palace and the Parliament house. Any information on it is welcome.

Neighbourhoods: Södermalm

by Maline

South of Gamla Stan, is Södermalm, or Söder, the southern part of Stockholm. This part of town used to be the home of artists and workers, but not so long ago the area started to become a fashionable and popular place to live, and now it is as expensive, if not more, as the other parts. Many people consider Söder to have a special atmosphere. Especially in eastern part of Söder you can find a lot of really cute neighbourhoods.

A moose at Skansen

by CandS

A moose that we found at Skansen!

I was so happy to see a moose...they are MUCH bigger than I expecte!! :) If you have never seen a real moose make sure you see this one...he is really beautiful, and he makes the cutest noises! ;) We had to wait a few minutes for him to come out of his hut but it was worth the wait.

The cows are in town

by HORSCHECK

Between June and August 2004 about 100 colorful fibreglass cows are placed on various streets, squares or in buildings of Stockholm. This cow parade has already been in New York, London, Dublin and Sydney.
