HAVE A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP

No, we didn't stay here, we stayed in Stockholm!

We were driving to the Airport and we saw it on the way. They certainly have some unusual Hostels in Sweden, and this was another one. Stay in a Jumbo Jet!
You can find out more on their website.

wanna sleep comfortably in a PLANE?

Jumbo Hostel is a Boeing 747-400 transformed into a hostel. It's location is about 15 minutes from Terminal 5, which makes it an excellent and very affordable place to sleep in if you have a short layover in Stockholm and/or don't feel like paying for a hotel in town.

All the rooms have a common shower in a corridor.

The prices start at 350 SEK for a bed in a dorm. Want to sleep in private quarters? Rent their cockpit suite! I'll find out more about it soon, as I plan to visit it :-)

Update Apr 2009: I went to see the hostel but unfortunately there was nobody who could let me in and take pix of the rooms or the suite. I also wanted to ask something I read about being able to walk and/or sit on the wings and have a cup of coffee, tea, coca cola, etc.

Unique Quality: Day rooms available between 8am and 4pm for 600 SEK and above. Also, very convenient if you don't want to or can't hit the town if your flight got canceled. Breakfast and wireless internet are included in the prices.

Worlds first Jumbo Jet plane hostel

One of the world’s coolest hostels! Right next to Arlanda Airport. Here you can spend the night onboard a real jumbo jet. The first hostel in the World that offers rooms in a Jumbo Jet on the ground.

There are several choises of rooms to chose from. It´s small rooms about 6 square meters and 3 meters to ceiling, it has a total of 25 rooms and 72 beds.

You can make a booking by phone or by the website (see bellow)

I havent stayed here, I just found out that it reasantly opened.

Unique Quality: This is the hostel to stay in if you have a early flight from Arlanda (airport) or if you have a couple of hours over you can actually rent a room by hour. It´s a 10 minutes WALK to the check-in counters at Arlanda or you can take the bus if you dont want to walk.

The room types and prices is:

Cockpit Suite 3300Kr
The aircraft’s cockpit has been converted into a de luxe suite with parts of the original interior saved as curiosities. From the suite’s panoramic windows you have a magnificent view of the air traffic at Arlanda. Equipped with TV, wireless internet free of charge and toilet with shower.

Male dorm 350Kr
There are 4 beds in the male dorm that you share with other guests. (90cm beds)

Private 1-2-3 1350kr
Up to 3 persons allowed in the room (one 140cm bed and one 90cm bed)

Twin bed room 1200kr
To beds in the room (90 cm each)

All rooms have a flat screen TV where you can, among other things, watch the times of departure for all flights. Everywhere in the jumbo jet you have access to wireless broadband. All rooms offer a shower and toilet in the corridor.
