The Lydmar Hotel
~$150-200/night if I remember correctly... Great bar and pretty good food too! The rooms are well decorated and have nice DVD player/TV systems.

Lydmar is the kind of cool hotel you can try to tell your friends about, but they really have to experience it themselves.
When I arrived with my girlfriend, it did not look like a hotel at all. It is just a cool cafe with dj and loud music. The reception was just a guy at a table in the corner. We approached him, and had to speak loud into his ear, the way you have to when you are at any bar, and we got our key.
The elevator is the easiest and funniest thing to describe. You can actually choose music, and it is not the usual muzak - it is rap, r'n'b, rock, jazz and so on.
The room was really special. A dark and strong purple coulor with a huge picture of a staring woman.
Come on, you should really visit Lydmar!
Unique Quality: Elevator where you can choose music.
This place was expensive but absolutely fantastic on all angles. Very close to Stureplan and many restaurants and clubs. The concierge is helpful with where to go out and where to eat. The hotel is packed with young trendy types ready to party all night in the city. Room was a very good size with balcony over a very European courtyard. Lots of amenities, I particularly liked the big bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotions in the bathrooms. This place is a can't miss bet if you have the cash.
Unique Quality: Right in the heart of everything.
The only hotel I've come across where you can press a button in the lift to choose your music! The bar/restaurant is excellent, with live music. Rooms are very comfortable (beds have the traditional Swedish top mattress) and each is individually designed.
Unique Quality: Great combination of culture and design, right in the centre of Stockholm. Reasonably priced, but ty and get a larger room if you can afford it.
