Radisson SAS Strand Hotel

Nice location on the waterside. Rooms are large and clean. Restaurant is huge. Not much character though

Great hotel, good location

The hotel in the heart of the city centre and all the ares you may need to reach are an easy walk from the hotel - theatres, opera, Gamla Stan and museums. I have stayed at this hotel several times, and with sufficient time you can make use of one of the Radisson SAS hotel deals. Your company may even have a corporate rate.

The rooms are clean and relatively large and if you are fortunate you will have a room at the front of the hotel, which is good as the view of Nybroviken is wonderful. The restaurant offers the normal grand buffet for breakfast and there is agood dinner and lunch menu too. The bar is comfortable and we had a pleasant evening in the lounge.

Unique Quality: There is a sauna and gym, so relax in these facailities and then have dinner and a drink in the Strand restaurant. There is also a small business centre with two pcs and network connections for lap top users.

great waterfront location

This is a superior business class hotel - we got a great deal for a weekend stay. Our room had an internal window which looked over the atrium where breakfast is served. If you can afford it, a superior room will give you a fantastic view of the boats moored at Nybrokajen.

Unique Quality: The rooms were comfortable and tastefully furnished. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I had ever seen - well worth the price of 170 kr. After a long day of sight seeing it was great to relax in the cosy lobby with a drink.

Great Location

Very friendly check on staff, and rooms that were very clean and well equipped. The hotel is located in the harbour, with lovely views.

Unique Quality: Located in the city centre, and overlooking the gorgeous waterways. All withing easy reach of good restaurants, bars, shopping and even theatres.

Very classy

Actually, I didn't stay here. But I went inside. It is very centrally located, beautiful, with a skybar.

Unique Quality: Very trendy, with amazing design. It's very central, and because it is right next to Central station, and right in the city, you can maximise your stay in Stockholm, and enjoy the nightlife. This is most suited towards business travellers.

Has a SkyBar, which is geared towards the 25yr+ crowd, I believe. (There's even a coat check-in).

Fabulous location

If you had a look at the Grand and envied those who can afford it, this is a second best that is much more affordable.
It is back-to-back with the Grand, so it is as close as the Grand to the main attractions, and its view is on a harbour too, although not the same you see from the Grand (this hotel faces the Nybroviken).
Luckily the Radisson hotels have various discount formulas, so it is not difficult to find one that may apply to you.

Unique Quality: The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff is kind and service is flawless. A rich and delicious buffet is served every morning until 11. The staff are kind enough to come to your table about ten minutes before 11, to inform you that the buffet is about to close and to invite you to help yourself if you wish.

by AdHocTravel about Radisson SAS Strand Hotel

This was my favorite hotel on my trip. My room was rather small but very cozy and a total lack of typical 'hotel decor.' I had nice writing desk, a comfortable bed with bulit in shelves behind me.

A full breakfast was served each day and was included in the rate. There was a wide variety of American and more traditional dishes to pick.

Best area to stay in the city-1 week August?

by nepo23

I am travelling to Stockholm for the first time this August and already have accommodation from 19-22 august, just that I am looking for a hotel from 15-19 august. What is the best area of the city to stay for a single guy who is 32 yrs. old and wants to explore the different neighborhoods, sites, etc. during the day (I love to walk and just wander and get lost...) and be able to go out at night for dinners and cool chilled out bars/clubs? Thanks for your advice.

You don't specify your budget...

I am biased but would recommend the southern city centre island of Söder. It is a bit hilly for when you've been out walking all day but it is central and has good underground services. It is also nice to walk on in itself, often with great city vistas from its hills. Moreover, it has lots of trendy bars which are nicer than downtown if you ask me. I suppose you want to stay close to the nightlife so you can just "stumble home" when you get tired? :-)
