Stallmastaregarden Hotel And Restaurant

The Stallmästaregården is a really lovely hotel located at a lake in Haga Park. And here we have already the first minus: the hotel`s location is really a bit "off the beaten path". And not only that - what they do not say on their website is, that the hotel is surrounded by busy streets. So it isn`t that idyllic actually as you might think when looking at their website. The windows are soundproof though, so at least in winter it isn`t that bad. And inside the hotel you feel more like being in a swedish country cottage than in Stockholm!

It is decorated in a lovely way - I especially liked the lobby with the fireplace.

The rooms are a bit on the small side, but they are nevertheless comfortable. TV has mostly swedish channels, but in Sweden english movies are not syncronized so you`ll be able to understand something :).

The staff did not seem to be very motivated (we had to wait an eternity till we could order drinks, no napkins on the breakfast table, etc) ...and the buffet style breakfast was a bit boring. It took us about 20 minutes till the next shopping street and about 40 minutes by foot to Gamla Stan.

The hotel was very clean and neat. From the outside it has a historical feel to it. The rooms look very modern. If you can get a good rate, I would recommend this hotel. Very close to the bus stop for Flyingbus to the aiport, and bus to the city center. About 10 minutes walk to the Odenplan Metro station(subway). 20-30 minutes walk to city center.

Unique Quality: Close to transportation, but yet in a quiet suburban environment. Great Staff.

Stallmasteregården, litterally "The stable master's yard" is a cosy 4 star hotel in a 17th century building just at the limit of the city centre, by the Royal Haga park. Wood panelling all over the place, the park and lake outside the window, ideal to relax after a hard day's work.
Its location also means that it is on the same side of town than Arlanda airport.

Unique Quality: The cosy atmosphere, the park and lake on the doorstep, the city centre within walking distance and easy access to the airport. What else do you need? Ah, yes, the restaurant is quite good as well.
